ATALANTE-1 (NCT02654587) · Non Small Cell Lung Cancer
The completed lead evidence is positive, with design limits that temper confidence; the rationale below says which.
ATALANTE-1 (NCT02654587): This was a randomized, open-label (unblinded) phase 3 trial with an active chemotherapy comparator and overall survival, a hard clinical endpoint, as its primary measure. In the pre-specified subgroup with 'secondary' resistance to checkpoint inhibitors, OSE2101 showed a statistically significant survival advantage, but when the full population of checkpoint-inhibitor-resistant patients was analyzed the survival difference was no longer statistically significant, and the trial was not blinded, both of which temper how confidently the benefit can be attributed to the drug alone.
