Evidence outlook · lead readout
NCT04853407 · Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
The completed lead evidence has the design features that historically survive confirmatory trials: randomized, controlled, and adequately powered against a prespecified clinically accepted endpoint.
NCT04853407: This was a randomized, quadruple-blinded, placebo-controlled trial with 558 patients and a validated depression-severity scale as the primary endpoint. Both ansofaxine doses significantly outperformed placebo (MADRS reductions of 20.0 and 19.9 points versus 14.6 with placebo, p<0.0001).
