CHEST-1 (NCT00855465) · Pulmonary Hypertension
The completed lead evidence has the design features that historically survive confirmatory trials: randomized, controlled, and adequately powered against a prespecified clinically accepted endpoint.
CHEST-1 (NCT00855465): In this triple-blind, randomized trial, 262 participants received riociguat or matching placebo. The primary clinical endpoint, change in 6-minute walking distance at week 16, was significantly better with riociguat: 38.9 meters versus −5.5 meters with placebo, with p<0.0001.
