Henagliflozin

Developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Pharmaceuticals

Phase 3 in Type 2 Diabetessmall molecule
Reliable signal

NCT03159052 · Phase 3 · status unknown

This was a randomized, quadruple-blind, placebo-controlled trial (n=450). The primary endpoint, HbA1c change at 24 weeks, was clearly met: both the 5 mg and 10 mg doses reduced HbA1c significantly more than placebo (p<.001 for each).

SYR-472

Developed by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company

Phase 3 in Type 2 Diabetessmall molecule
Partial signal

NCT02324569 · Phase 3 · completed

The 12-week comparison randomized 240 participants and used quadruple blinding with placebo control. The primary HbA1c endpoint was met, with a statistically significant treatment difference, but HbA1c is a surrogate laboratory measure rather than a hard clinical endpoint; the subsequent long-term period was open-label.
