Cannabidiol (Epidiolex)

Marketed by Jazz Pharmaceuticals and partners

Approved in Epilepsysmall molecule
Partial signal

NCT02224573 · Phase 3 · completed

This is a genuine open-label extension trial: the title explicitly states 'Open Label Extension Study,' and eligibility required participants to have completed the treatment phase of the prior randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled core studies (NCT02091206, NCT02091375, NCT02224703, NCT02224560, NCT02224690). It used a single group of 681 participants with no randomization, no blinding, and no comparator arm, so it cannot provide comparative evidence on its own. The primary outcomes were mostly safety measures plus descriptive changes in seizure frequency, and no inferential statistical comparison was conducted.
