Blocking only VEGF may leave an inflammatory component unaddressed, potentially limiting durability of response or allowing disease progression through IL-6-driven mechanisms. A bispecific molecule that traps VEGF (using a decoy receptor domain) while also neutralizing IL-6 aims to interrupt both processes with a single agent, rather than layering separate therapies.
