NCT02300233: The study randomized 114 participants to volanesorsen or matching placebo and used quadruple blinding of participants, care providers, investigators, and outcome assessors. Its primary endpoint, percent change in fasting triglycerides at 3 months, favored volanesorsen and was statistically significant (p<0.0001), but triglyceride reduction is a laboratory surrogate rather than a hard clinical or endoscopic outcome.
