Diazepam (Valium)

Marketed by Roche

Approved in Epilepsysmall molecule
Weak signal

NCT03428360 · Phase 3 · completed

This was a single-group, open-label study with no randomization, blinding, or comparator arm; 149 participants were enrolled and 130 received study drug. Its primary safety outcomes were descriptive and had no formal between-group comparison, so the findings provide limited evidence for assessing diazepam buccal film.

Marketed by UCB

Approved in Epilepsysmall molecule
Reliable signal

NCT01390220 · Phase 3 · terminated

This was a randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled trial in 201 patients, and the primary outcome, control of a seizure cluster with no recurrence, was reached significantly more often with midazolam than with placebo (72 of 134 patients vs 23 of 67, p=0.011).
