The study was an open-label, single-group trial of 15 participants; although it included a short double-blind placebo-withdrawal period, the primary one-year weight-loss endpoint was assessed without a parallel placebo or active-control arm. The primary endpoint was statistically positive against a predefined 5% benchmark, but the uncontrolled design limits the strength of evidence.
