Head-to-head evidence
AV-1959R vs Lecanemab
Same mechanism, same race: design-graded trial evidence for both assets, with the grading rationale shown. Grades describe the quality of the evidence, never the merits of either security.

AV-1959R
Developed by Nuravax, Inc.
NCT06831812 · Phase 1 · completed
The trial was randomized and blinded with a placebo comparator, but it enrolled only 16 people in total, with as few as two per placebo group, and it was designed to test safety and antibody response rather than a disease outcome. No serious adverse events occurred in any group, but the very small numbers mean the safety comparison cannot rule much out.

Lecanemab · Leqembi
Marketed by Eisai and partners
NCT01767311 · Phase 2 · completed
Randomized, triple-masked phase 2b in early Alzheimer's disease (856 participants). The Bayesian primary analysis of the ADCOMS composite at 12 months estimated a 63.8% posterior probability of meaningful benefit for the highest dose, short of the study's prespecified success criterion, so the primary endpoint was not met.
