This was a randomized, quadruple-blinded, placebo-controlled trial with 558 patients and a validated depression-severity scale as the primary endpoint. Both ansofaxine doses significantly outperformed placebo (MADRS reductions of 20.0 and 19.9 points versus 14.6 with placebo, p<0.0001).
