albuterol (Armstrong Albuterol HFA)
Marketed by Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
NCT00634829 · Phase 3 · terminated
This is a randomized, quadruple-blind, placebo- and active-controlled crossover study measuring lung function directly, but the sample size is small and no results have been posted yet, so the outcome remains unknown. (Independently confirmed by a second model, in-session-confirm:claude-opus-20260822.)

Proventil
Marketed by Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
NCT00577655 · Phase 3 · completed
The trial randomized 103 children to albuterol or placebo and masked participants, caregivers, investigators, and outcome assessors. Its primary measures were physiologic lung-function outcomes rather than hard clinical outcomes; the FEV1 comparison was statistically significant, while the PEF comparison was not significant at the prespecified threshold, so the findings were mixed.
