Evidence outlook · lead readout
NCT06170242 · Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection
The completed lead evidence is positive, with design limits that temper confidence; the rationale below says which.
NCT06170242: In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2a challenge study, healthy volunteers were deliberately infected with RSV and then treated with EDP-323 or placebo. Both EDP-323 doses significantly reduced the amount of virus detected in nasal samples compared with placebo, but the trial measured viral load rather than a direct clinical symptom or disease outcome.
