Olanzapine (TV-44749)
Developed by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries
NCT05693935 · Phase 3 · completed
The 675-participant study was randomized, quadruple-blind, and placebo-controlled, with approximately 165 to 169 participants per blinded treatment group. Its primary clinical endpoint, change in PANSS total score at week 8, was significantly better with each TV-44749 dose than with placebo (all adjusted p<0.0001), supporting a strong evidence rating for the blinded efficacy comparison.
Risperidone (Risperdal)
Marketed by Johnson & Johnson
NCT00253136 · Phase 3 · completed
The study randomized 458 participants to double-blind risperidone or placebo, with change in the clinical PANSS score as the primary endpoint. Because the registry does not report whether this endpoint was met, the trial provides a well-controlled design but no assessable result.
Next expected readout: December 2026 · NCT06482554 (registry estimate)
