Same mechanism, same race: design-graded trial evidence for both assets, with the grading rationale shown. Grades describe the quality of the evidence, never the merits of either security.

Nivolumab
Marketed by Bristol-Myers Squibb
NCT01673867 · Phase 3 · completed
This was a large randomized trial comparing nivolumab with active treatment, but it was open-label rather than double-blinded. The prespecified primary endpoint, overall survival, favored nivolumab and was statistically significant; however, the lack of blinding limits the strength of the evidence.

Toripalimab
Marketed by Coherus BioSciences, Inc. and partners
NCT03856411 · Phase 3 · completed
This randomized, quadruple-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 465 patients met its primary endpoint: median progression-free survival was 8.4 months with toripalimab plus chemotherapy versus 5.6 months with placebo plus chemotherapy, a highly statistically significant improvement.
Caveat: this result is taken from a company announcement or a news report of one, not from the trial registry or a peer-reviewed publication. Treat the figures as the sponsor's own statement, not as independently verified evidence.
