Lurasidone
Marketed by Sumitomo Pharma
NCT00549718 · Phase 3 · completed
The study randomized approximately 500 participants to lurasidone 40, 80, or 120 mg or placebo and used quadruple masking of participants, clinicians, investigators, and outcome assessors. Its clinical primary endpoint, change in total PANSS score over 6 weeks, favored lurasidone overall versus placebo and was statistically significant (p<0.05).
Olanzapine (TV-44749)
Developed by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries
NCT05693935 · Phase 3 · completed
The 675-participant study was randomized, quadruple-blind, and placebo-controlled, with approximately 165 to 169 participants per blinded treatment group. Its primary clinical endpoint, change in PANSS total score at week 8, was significantly better with each TV-44749 dose than with placebo (all adjusted p<0.0001), supporting a strong evidence rating for the blinded efficacy comparison.
