Head-to-head evidence

lixisenatide vs XW014

Same mechanism, same race: design-graded trial evidence for both assets, with the grading rationale shown. Grades describe the quality of the evidence, never the merits of either security.

Type 2 Diabetes

Shared mechanism: GLP-1 receptor · full Type 2 Diabetes pipeline

lixisenatide · Adlyxin / Lyxumia

Marketed by Sanofi

Approved in Type 2 Diabetespeptide
Partial signal

NCT00707031 · Phase 3 · completed

The 639 participants were randomly assigned to lixisenatide or active treatment with exenatide, but the study was not blinded. The primary HbA1c comparison met its prespecified non-inferiority criterion, with a between-group difference of 0.17 percentage points and a 95% confidence interval of 0.033 to 0.297, but HbA1c is a surrogate endpoint rather than a hard clinical outcome.

Developed by Sciwind Biosciences

Phase 1 in Type 2 Diabetessmall molecule
Partial signal

NCT05579314 · Phase 1 · completed

This is a randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled trial, but its primary endpoints are adverse events and routine safety measurements rather than a diabetes outcome such as blood sugar control, and no results have been posted yet.
