Head-to-head evidence
fenoterol/ipratropium bromide vs ipratropium/albuterol
Same mechanism, same race: design-graded trial evidence for both assets, with the grading rationale shown. Grades describe the quality of the evidence, never the merits of either security.

fenoterol/ipratropium bromide
Developed by Boehringer Ingelheim
NCT02182479 · Phase 3 · completed
This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (n=631) comparing fenoterol/ipratropium delivered by two different inhaler devices against matching placebos. The primary endpoint, change in FEV1 lung function, was clearly met: active treatment roughly doubled the FEV1 improvement seen with placebo, and the newer inhaler was shown non-inferior to the standard one (p<0.001).
