Same mechanism, same race: design-graded trial evidence for both assets, with the grading rationale shown. Grades describe the quality of the evidence, never the merits of either security.

Dalcetrapib
Developed by DalCor Pharmaceuticals under a licence from Japan Tobacco
NCT01516541 · Phase 3 · completed
The study was randomized and double-blind, compared dalcetrapib with placebo, and enrolled 2,220 participants. Its primary endpoint was a hard clinical composite cardiovascular outcome, but the comparison cannot be judged because trial results have not been posted.
Next expected readout: August 2027 · NCT05918861 (registry estimate)
Obicetrapib
Developed by NewAmsterdam Pharma
NCT05142722 · Phase 3 · completed
Participants were randomized 2:1 to obicetrapib or placebo and the trial was quadruple-blinded, with 2,530 participants enrolled. The primary LDL-cholesterol endpoint was met, with a statistically significant treatment difference, but LDL cholesterol is a surrogate laboratory endpoint rather than a hard clinical or endoscopic measure, supporting a moderate grade.
Next expected readout: November 2026 · NCT06496243 (registry estimate)
