Head-to-head evidence
Capmatinib vs Tepotinib
Same mechanism, same race: design-graded trial evidence for both assets, with the grading rationale shown. Grades describe the quality of the evidence, never the merits of either security.

Capmatinib
Marketed by Novartis and partners
NCT04427072 · Phase 3 · terminated
This randomized, open-label trial compared capmatinib to docetaxel in patients with MET exon 14-mutant lung cancer, but enrolled only 22 participants (15 on capmatinib, 7 on docetaxel) before the sponsor terminated the study early. Median progression-free survival was numerically longer with capmatinib (6.1 vs 4.1 months), but the confidence intervals were wide and overlapping and no formal statistical test was reported, so this severely underpowered trial cannot reliably show whether capmatinib truly outperformed docetaxel.

Tepotinib · Tepmetko
Marketed by Merck KGaA and partners
NCT02864992 · Phase 2 · active, not recruiting
An open-label, single-arm Phase 2 study with no comparator arm; objective response was assessed by blinded independent review. The response rate (46% in 99 patients with at least 9 months of follow-up) supported FDA accelerated approval, but without a control group the study cannot separate the drug's effect from the course of the disease.
