bimagrumab

Developed by Eli Lilly under a licence from Novartis

Phase 2 in Obesitymonoclonal antibody
Partial signal

NCT05616013 · Phase 2 · completed

This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial enrolled 507 adults and used a hard clinical primary endpoint, change in body weight at Week 48. The primary endpoint comparison showed a statistically significant advantage for most active treatment combinations over placebo, including the highest-dose combination (bimagrumab 30 mg/kg + semaglutide 2.4 mg), but the 10 mg/kg bimagrumab monotherapy arm missed significance, yielding a mixed primary endpoint result. Because the primary endpoint was not uniformly met across the multiple prespecified comparisons, the overall evidence is moderate despite the strong design.

Next expected readout: December 2028 · NCT05933499 (registry estimate)
