AZD0780
Developed by AstraZeneca
NCT06173570 · Phase 2 · completed
The study randomized 428 participants to four AZD0780 dose groups or matched placebo and used quadruple blinding of participants, care providers, investigators, and outcome assessors. Its primary endpoint was the regulator-accepted lipid measure LDL cholesterol, and all four AZD0780-versus-placebo comparisons were statistically significant in the favorable direction (p<0.001).

Enlicitide
Marketed by Merck & Co.
NCT05952856 · Phase 3 · completed
This was a randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 3 trial in 2,909 adults with hypercholesterolemia. The primary endpoint was the mean percent change in LDL-C from baseline to Week 24, a standard regulator-accepted efficacy measure for lipid-lowering therapy. The active arm achieved a significantly greater LDL-C reduction than placebo (-57.1% vs +3.0%, p<0.001), so the trial met its primary endpoint with a large effect size and low risk of bias.
Next expected readout: October 2027 · NCT07614984 (registry estimate)
