Atezolizumab

Marketed by Roche

Approved in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancermonoclonal antibody
Partial signal

NCT02008227 · Phase 3 · completed

This large randomized, active-controlled Phase 3 trial (1225 patients) compared atezolizumab to docetaxel in advanced NSCLC. The primary endpoint was overall survival, a hard clinical endpoint, and it was met: median OS 13.8 months for atezolizumab vs 9.6 months for docetaxel, HR 0.73 (95% CI 0.62-0.87), p=0.0003. The trial was not blinded (open-label), so despite the robust randomized design and positive result, the evidence is graded moderate rather than strong.

Developed by CStone Pharmaceuticals

Phase 3 in Non-Small Cell Lung Cancermonoclonal antibody
Reliable signal

NCT03728556 · Phase 3 · completed

In this randomized, quadruple-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 3 trial, 381 patients with stage III lung cancer who had completed chemoradiotherapy were randomized to sugemalimab or placebo. Sugemalimab significantly reduced the risk of progression or death compared with placebo (median progression-free survival 10.5 vs 6.2 months).
