Apomorphine (Apokyn)
Marketed by Supernus Pharmaceuticals
NCT00142545 · Phase 3 · completed
The study was non-randomized, open-label, and had no comparator arm; all 800 participants received apomorphine. Its primary outcomes focused on safety monitoring, and no primary endpoint results were posted, so there is no controlled comparison showing benefit.
Next expected readout: December 2027 · NCT04957095 (registry estimate)
Apomorphine sublingual film (Kynmobi)
Marketed by Sumitomo Pharma
NCT02469090 · Phase 3 · completed
The study randomized 109 patients to apomorphine sublingual film or matching placebo in a quadruple-blind design, with 54 patients receiving apomorphine and 55 receiving placebo. The primary clinical motor-function endpoint was met: the MDS-UPDRS Part III score improved more with apomorphine than placebo at Week 12 (p=0.0002).
