ALIA-1758 vs AV-1959R

Same mechanism, same race: design-graded trial evidence for both assets, with the grading rationale shown. Grades describe the quality of the evidence, never the merits of either security.

ALIA-1758

Developed by AbbVie

Phase 1 in Alzheimer's Diseasemonoclonal antibody (BBB-crossing)
Partial signal

NCT06406348 · Phase 1 · completed

AV-1959R

Developed by Nuravax, Inc.

Phase 2 in Alzheimer's DiseaseBiologic (active vaccine)
Partial signal

NCT06831812 · Phase 1 · completed

The trial was randomized and blinded with a placebo comparator, but it enrolled only 16 people in total, with as few as two per placebo group, and it was designed to test safety and antibody response rather than a disease outcome. No serious adverse events occurred in any group, but the very small numbers mean the safety comparison cannot rule much out.

Next expected readout: June 2029 · NCT07827768 (registry estimate)
