Head-to-head evidence
adalimumab vs obefazimod
Same indication, different mechanisms: design-graded trial evidence for both assets, with the grading rationale shown. Grades describe the quality of the evidence, never the merits of either security.

adalimumab: TNF-alpha · obefazimod: miR-124 · full Ulcerative Colitis pipeline
adalimumab · Humira

NCT00385736 · Phase 3 · completed
Design is strong (randomized, quadruple-blind, placebo-controlled, n=576, hard endoscopic/clinical Mayo remission endpoint), but the primary endpoint result was discordant across the two pre-specified dose-vs-placebo comparisons: one significant, one not. A well-designed trial with a mixed result is capped at moderate rather than strong.

obefazimod
Developed by Abivax
NCT05507203 · Phase 3 · completed
The trial was randomized, blinded, and placebo-controlled with a hard clinical/endoscopic primary endpoint (clinical remission), and both the 25 mg and 50 mg doses produced significantly higher remission rates than placebo (23.8% and 21.7% vs 2.5%, both P<0.0001).
Caveat: this result is taken from a company announcement or a news report of one, not from the trial registry or a peer-reviewed publication. Treat the figures as the sponsor's own statement, not as independently verified evidence.
Next expected readout: March 2028 · NCT05177835 (registry estimate)
